Bhutan Hydropower Services Limited implemented the SAP-ERP (System Application Product-Enterprise Resource Planning) system at their corporate office in Gelephu on August 1, 2013.
The SAP project contract was signed on April 3, 2013, with WIPRO, India, at a total cost estimate of Nu. 8.72 million. Five consultants from WIPRO and six from Druk Green were deployed for the four-month project. Irrespective of a compact schedule, the system was implemented on time.
The four modules implemented are Finance and Controlling (FICO), Material Management (MM), Project System (PS) and Human Capital Management (HCM). BHSL management also plans to implement other modules like Sales and Distributions (SD), Production and Planning (PP), and Business Intelligence (BI) in future.
BHSL management and staff has also introduced “E-initiatives” for care and support for the environment. They said SAP system will also support the initiative, particularly in reducing all forms of office waste that would otherwise harm our environment. They emphasised that the viability of the SAP system is at stake unless everyone is prepared for continuous improvement and transformation.
BHSL Chief Executive Officer, Tenzin, thanked the consultants, who worked for the project, for making the implementation possible and doing a wonderful job, including Druk Green management for their support in undertaking this project. The management and staff look forward to constructing a world class centre of excellence in hydropower services at Jigmeling, and hope that the SAP system would support their big dream.
Dasho Thrompon of Gelephu Thromde was also present at the event, along with few sector heads. Consultants from Druk Green, WIPRO and Alstom, and BHSL employees were also present during the ERP-SAP system go-live.
